There were three reasons for coming to Connecticut: visit Aunt Jean and Uncle Bob, see Peter and Maureen, and go to Hammonasset Beach. Today was the only viable beach day so we spent much of the day here.
The yesterday’s forcast was 83 and sunny for today. This morning it changed mostly cloudy and 73. The water is cold. The kids have enjoyed playing at the beach for the most part. This afternoon we had a couple of hours of sunshine. High tide was at 1:47 so we has plenty of water come up while we were there.
Tonight we’ll see Jean and Bob. Tomorrow will be Pete and Mo. Saturday we’re on the move again to Daryl’s place. But today we’re lazin’ at the beach.

It’s Memorial Day 2009 and we’re at the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery in Salt Lake City at Trevor’s grave and Traci’s memorial. We had a hard time finding his gravesite as we don’t get here very often. I always think I’ll remember exactly where it is but alas, not so. I think I’ll write it down this time and then the trick will be to remember where I wrote it!
This is a very pretty morning. The sun is shining, no breeze, clear blue skies, and abundant birds singing away in the trees. Nina’s cleaning off the gravestone and some of the overgrown grass around it. The vase needs to be replaced, though. Someone has ripped off the original vase. Since we already own the gravesites to the east of Trevor’s grave, I think we need to put a bench there. Trevor and Traci, we’re thinking of you today!

The market opens in about a half an hour. Most vendors are busy setting up. I have much less to set up, so I t doesn’t take long. The issue is to get here early enough to get the car and trailer in next to our spot. That gives me plenty of time to watch everyone else get set up and argue about who’s encroaching on their neighbor’s space.
Hoping we sell some today!!

Today is the second day of the work to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. I’ve got the video on my Mac Mini to watch and listen while working. These guys are amazing as they figure out how to work around problems. The views of the earth in the background occasionally are breathtaking. It’s hard to concentrate on work!

Moving the blogs to the hosted services at BlueHost involved quite a
bit of setup. The first set of work was to make the actual, normal
blogs work correctly. That is, people needed to be able to read the
blogs, the blog owners needed to be able to log in and manage their
blogs, and new content had to post correctly.
The second part was to get picture albums work correctly for the
people who have that capability. That turned out to be quite a bit
more challenging because of a configuration difference between
BlueHost and my web servers at home. The problem was further
complicated because some of the server logs are not accessible! I need
to talk with a systems admin at BlueHost to understand how everything
is set up so that future problems can be resolved much more quickly.
Now I’m working on getting the ability to email a blog entry working.
This is the test…. I’ll know if it works if this post shows up as
expected on my blog. If so, then we’re good to go for those who have
this capability set up.
I’ll work tomorrow on getting the tweets from Twitter for me, Perry,
and Jim working properly. I haven’t started working on this, yet, but
I expect it’ll be fairly straight forward.
Finally, I have a process that downloads my tweets from Twitter and
puts them on my blog in one of the sidebars. When that’s working, I’ll
have finished the move of the blogs to the new service. Then it’ll be
time to celebrate!
