The cardiologist finally came by about 9 p.m. to do an evaluation of dad. His report was that dad has some serious congestive heart failure going on. They’ll work to “dry him out” tonight, but that he’s probably OK to proceed with the gall bladder surgery tomorrow. That surgery isn’t scheduled, yet, so it probably won’t be until late morning or afternoon.
By the time we left the hospital about 9:30 p.m. this evening he was looking and feeling better. The IV drip had hydrated him and they had given him a pretty strong dose of antibiotics. That seemed to be helping. Earlier in the evening he was pretty confused and didn’t know where he was or what was going on. We sure hope that this turns out to be the root of his problems and that he quickly gets back to his normal self!
