I just heard from Mother that my Uncle Delon Smith in Las Cruces, New Mexico, died this morning from an apparent heart attack. No other information is available, including anything about arrangements.
Delon was three months younger than me. More information as it becomes available.

Delon was born on June 26, 1945 in Preston, Idaho. He married Nelma Jean Powell on June 30, 1973. Delon had been living in Las Cruces, New Mexico for the past twenty years or more.
Update 2 (February 12, 2008):
Delon got up early in the morning unable to breathe. He went into the bathroom and collapsed. When the paramedics arrived, he had stopped breathing and had died.
Dad’s funeral is set for Wednesday at 11am here in Las Cruces. Mom decided to have him buried in Idaho, but we don’t have the information on that part yet.
DeLon’s Services will be Wednesday at 3212 Venus St, Las Cruces, NM. Viewing at 10:00 and the funeral at 11:00.
I am so sorry about your uncle. I have worked with him for the last 3 years. He was a good man.

I worked with DeLon for the past 5 years. I liked him very much and will miss him.
I currently live in Gulf Breeze, FL and work remotely for CSC at Holloman AFB, NM and will be traveling back to Alamogordo, NM on business, next Thursday and regretably will miss DeLon’s funeral.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
