On US Route 91 between Downey, ID and Preston, ID on the north side of the Bear River are a couple of historical markers about the Bear River Massacre where hundreds of indians were killed by Colonel Patrick Connor. Today this action would be considered criminal.
Under the tree to the side of the markers is this little spot marked with remembrances. We stopped here on our way to Logan on Saturday, March 21st for Ashlyn’s wedding as I thought that Pam and Anne would like to see a bit of the wild west history. As we were getting ready to leave, I took their picture as a remembrance.
