She was selling eggs at the Soda Springs Farmers Market and had a plate of a dozen eggs on the table, some white, some green, and some brown. They were $2.00 a dozen, she said, and told us that she had some trouble finding a dozen eggs this morning. One was under the trailer, she said, and she had to crawl under to get the egg so she would have a dozen eggs to sell.
The market had been open only for a few minutes. I was intrigued by the green eggs and bought the plate of a dozen eggs. She promptly began packing up. All she had for sale today was one dozen eggs. She was finished and was going home.
Her smile is delightful, but behind the smile were two missing front teeth. She wouldn’t smile to show the gap, though. She’s going to be a heartbreaker, I think.
