Between McCammon and Soda Springs the road goes up and over Fish Creek pass, elevation 6,640 feet. The hills on either side of the pass go well over 7,000 feet. They often get snow while the lower elevations get rain. The kind of a storm we had on Wednesday and Thursday with daily record rainfalls is known as a “million dollar storm”. That’s because the soaking rain is coming at a time when the winter wheat has started growing again and when the potatoes are ready to go into the ground. The storm has increased the yield in the bigger farms by more than a million dollars.
