We bought this tree at Costco last year. Each main branch is supposed to be a different variety of apple and the tags on the branches tell us what the variety is.

This year the tree has blossoms! Time to read up on how to manage an apple tree. Years ago our Stake had an apple farm producing for the Church Welfare System. We spent hours each spring pruning apple trees. On one occasion, the farm manager called everyone around the tree I had just finished pruning and used it as an example of how NOT to prune an apple tree. I’ve been scarred ever since.

But, we’d like to get some apples from this tree. Time to do some research.
