President Obama visited India just after we left as a guest of the Indian Government on Republic Day, January 26th. He was planning to visit the Taj Mahal on the following Wednesday, as I remember. However, King Abdull of Saudi Arabia (finally) died and President Obama cut his visit to India short so he could make a stop in Saudi Arabia on his way back to the US.

Meanwhile, on the day we were at the Taj Mahal, several boats with armed military folks were out on the Yamuna River patrolling and practicing for the President’s planned visit.
